These classes are ran by Hatty who used to hold them at the nudetincan gallery on hatfield Road just around the corner.
These sessions involve both learning drawing and improving aspects of creativity through creating ideas, learning compositions and expanding their art skills.
The first half term the focus is on drawing people.. Each session will be different. for example. Week one was drawing different hairstyles and learning pencil techniques to draw and create various hair styles., including: pleats,, bobs, short spikey hair, long whispy hair and learning to put in shading and highlights to create effects they can use in their future art creations.
Another session will focus on the face and hints are given to produce a face with an easy understaing of locations of features and proportions.
There will also be sessions where students can create their own pictures with all the things they have learned or based on what we have learned for the half term.
Materials used will be pencils for drawing. When painting we may use watercolours. All materials are provided.
Min age is 8 years, though if you feel you have a budding artist who is 7 years it is possib;e they can join the classes though parent/guardian will need to stay on the premises for supervision. St Pauls has a foyer with sofas where you can sit and wait..
The classes are limited to 6 puplis to ensure Hatty can give individual instruction and assist each person so no one is left behind or is struggling if they need some help or another demo. or would like to discuss their ideas.
